Point Reyes Evanescent

I snapped a blurry picture from the road as we zipped through the undulating wildness that is Point Reyes-always wishing we could stop more often for an inviting bend or vanishing vista. The simplicity of this view called to me afterwards. The graininess of the reference photo, a relief from the habit of facsimile. I could only guess what was there. That tiny bit of not knowing allowed room for creative play and lightness. It’s rare I finish a painting in one sitting, but this one was just waiting to be born.
